JUNIOR AND YOUNG FRIENDS HOLIDAYS

Junior Holidays are short adventure breaks for up to 25 young people aged
between 7 and 12, from the Quakers in Yorkshire area. They are a chance for
young people to meet together, get to know each other and spend time away
from their family in a Quaker group.

Barmoor, Yorkshire Moors Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June (7 – 11yrs) £45
(£40 second child)

The Old School House, Robin Hoods Bay, Yorkshire. Mon 18th to Friday 22nd Aug
(8 – 12yrs) £110 (£100 second child)

What happens on the holidays? They are a mixture of doing things with the
whole group and having time to relax in small groups. We spend a lot of time
outdoors, exploring the local area, and play games, sing, dance, make things,
have stories and tell jokes. We go for walks (be prepared to get a bit tired
and muddy!) and visit local places. We have a Meeting for Worship and short
quiet times each day. Everyone helps to lay the tables, wash up and clear
away after meals. Sleeping is in boys/ girls bedrooms or dormitories.

Closing dates: By end of April for June Holiday and by the end of June for
the August Holiday.
Missed the closing date? Try anyway, there may be late places.

For older young people, Young Friends Holiday School (YFHS) 2014 – 17th to
24th August 2014 at Bootham School, York
Yorkshire Friends Holiday School is an annual gathering for around a hundred
13-18 year olds. We aim to build a vibrant, respectful community and organise
a mixture of activities – both fun and thought provoking, in both small and
large groups.
