Changes to our children's meeting
The summer holidays are over and its new schools for several of our children. Its also a time of change at Children’s Meeting!
From September onwards, we will have different groups on Sunday mornings. We all start together at 10.25am in the downstairs room, and after welcoming each other and a short period of silence, we divide into groups:
The “21st Century Foxes” is our group for secondary school age young people. This meets twice a month, and on other Sundays is joint with the “Older Frys”.
The “Older Frys” is our group for children in Year 6 (age 10/11). This meets every week. We have a lot of children of this age!
The “Younger Frys” is our group for children of Infant school age, and Year 3 and 4, and this also meets every week.
Children in Year 5 (age 9/10) get to choose which Frys group they wish to join…
In the past there has been a creche, run by a paid worker for children aged 0-5. She has just left us, as her own baby is due in December. We are very happy for her and wish her all the best, after many years of working for Sheffield Central!
The Children and Young People’s Work Committee is hoping to recruit a new Support Worker for Children’s Meeting….the details are still being finalised. Please let us know if you would like to bring a child aged 0-5 to Meeting, and would like someone else to look after them. There will always be toys available for young children to play with, with their parents.
Interested in helping? All of our groups need 2 adults (one of which has a CRB check). So every week we need at least 4 extra adults to help the session leaders. Talk to someone after meeting any Sunday.
